      Mrs. Jennie Byars Dies Here Friday; Rites Saturday
      Mrs. Jennie Cullum Byars, 82, widow of the late P.G. Byars, died Friday afternoon at a local hospital following an illness of two and one half years. John W. High officiated at rites conducted Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the chapel of High Funeral Home. Burial was in the Mt. View Cemetery. A daughter of John B. and Julia Ballow Kittrell, Mrs. Byars was a native of Smith County. The Church of Christ member was born April 21, 1879, She was first married to Talmon Fugitt. He died in 1912, and in 1914 she was married to Mr. Byars, who preceded her in death in 1958. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. A.T. Morgan, McMinnville; a step-son, P.G. Byars, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. W.G. Gibbs, Nashville; two grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
