      Biography
Jesse was born on Apr 11, 1743 on Goochland County, Virginia. Jesse and his wife, Alley Mildred Johnson Moore, moved to Burke County, North Carolina in 1772, where he lived with his family. Jesse died in Burke County (Caldwell County since 1841) on Mar 10, 1827. [1]

      Spouse: Alley Mildred Johnson (1745-1826)

In approximately 1772, Jesse Moore Jr and his wife Alley Johnson left their home in Virginia seeking new land in North Carolina. While passing through Yadkin Valley, Jesse heard of rich land available for homesteading in the valley under the Blue Ridge Mountains. Jesse brought his young family to John's River Valley in present day Caldwell County and built a cabin that stood until 1938. He cleared the fields and named it Globe. Jesse Moore is believed to have been the first permanent white settler in the valley.[2]
