~1190, Ralph born in England, s/o Roger de Toeni and Constance de Beaumont.
1/1194, Roger de Tosny provided his 4-year-old son Roger as a hostage to effect the release of King Richard as a prisoner in Germany. Roger’s son was put in guardianship of his cousin the Count of Hainault. (S) Troubadour’s Song, Boyle, 2005, P222.
5/27/1199, John crowned king of England.
1204, Ralph, his father, and some of his brothers, were excluded by the King of France from the terms of the pacification in Normandy.
1208-9, Ralph’s father died.

• Henry III held the Castle of Launceston and all the County of Cornwall, as well in fee as in demesne. Henry gave the castle with its appurtenances to his brother Richard, King of the Romans with the manor of Bliston [Blisland]. The said Richard gave it to Ralph de Tony and his heirs, to hold of the said Earl in chief, and that William St. Omer then held it with Petronilla his wife, who had been the wife of the said Ralph, in the name of dower.
