    • Abraham's age supports a child older than Sallie (b.1780) but keep in mind that a war was going on. The tradition is that he had an older son and I suspect he was named William John. There is no son in the 1790 Census, so I assume he died young. Part of the tradition of the older son,I suppose, is to help explain the spontaneous generation of "extra grandchildren", which are explained below. Nonetheless, chronology and tradition allow for this older son, who died young.
