| Gavin Hoyt Campen Family Gavin Campen (1846-1927) is the man with the beard on the left side of the picture. His wife Elizabeth Suzanne Roberts (1850 – ) is facing him. My grandmother Mary Vida Elizabeth Campen Gillentine is the woman on the first row seated left to right. Others in the picture are George Franklin Gillentine, Elizabeth (Bessie) Gillentine Curtis, Charles Smith Gillentine, Mary (Marion) Gillentine Boyd, Parker Gillentine. Margaret Campen (another daughter of Gavin) who married Samuel Galloway, and various other family members are in the picture. Gavin and Elizabeth are buried at Rock Island Cemetery, Warren County, TN.
This picture was made before my mother married in 1919.

SHOCKLEY, Mary Vida Campen (1874-1961) Shockley Funeral Held On Tuesday Mrs. Mary Vida Shockley, long-time resident of Warren county died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Bruce Curtis on Route 6, Sunday after an illness of nine months. She was 87. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, at High's Chapel, with interment to be in the Crain Hill Cemetery. Houston Stiles and John W. High will officiate.
Born in Warren county, Mrs. Shockley was the daughter of the late G.H. and Elizabeth Roberts Campen, also natives of the county. She was married to Tom J. Shockley, who preceded her in death, and was a member of the Church of Christ. The deceased is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Irving Hillis, of Bone Cave, Mrs. A.D. Boyd of Salino, Kansas, and Mrs. Curtis. She also leaves two sons, Parker Gillentine of Anderson, Ind., and Charlie Gillentine of Nashville and one sister, Mrs. Maggie Galloway of McMinnville.
She had 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grand- children.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
