    • Rev Luster Hayes was the widow of J. Newton Hayes. Her death certificate, census records and records at Hollywood Cemetery all show her given name as Luster, but her marker is inscribed Lester Hayes.

      Obituary, Hollywood Cemetery Burial applications 1946, Image 194:

      Rev Luster Hayes, 82, died Thursday at a Houston hospital. She was a minister of the Studewood Assembly of God Church. Survivors: daughters, Mrs Della Ellis, Mrs Ona Ebelt, Mrs Oma Wilkerson, all of Houston; Mrs Opal Allen of Hollywood, California; sons, William Henry Hayes and Rev George Otis Lee Hayes, both of Houston; 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. Services were at the Evanglistic Temple in Houston

      Children: Della Hayes, twins, Ona and Oma Hayes, Opal Hayes; twins, George Otis Lee Hayes and Obie Dee Hayes, William Henry Hayes, Dean Hayes.

      Her burial record shows she was born in Tennessee, but her death certificate shows Missouri. [3]
    • Aug 1992: She was a Pentacostal Preacher. Claude Hugh Hennessee remembers her always wearing white robes. Three sets of twins: first set died, second set of girls; Homie & Amonie, third set of boys; Boaz & George (Shorty). Shorty spent lots of time around Uncle Edd's place.
