  Hall and Lemuel in Bethell Genealogy The best I can tell the name Hall is derived from a Mary "Polly" Hall (1772-1859). She married Adam Dale (1768-1851) and had a son named Lemuel Hall Dale (1793-1796). He lived a few years. He was our 1st Cousin 6x removed. Mary's daughter, Peggy Hall Dale, had a son named Lemuel Hall Phillips (1818-1984). He is our 2nd cousin 5x removed. The first person I can find in our family tree with the name Lemuel is Lemuel Dale (1790-1831). He is our 5th cousin 5x removed. Adam Dale's sister, Elizabeth (1770-1851) married William Bratten (1755-1843). They had a daughter, Mary Anna Bratten (1786-1888) who married Cantrell Bethell (1779-1849). Cantrell was our (RJB & RB) 4th Great Grandfather. They had a son named Lemuel Hall Bethell (1810-1888) [Our 3rd Great Grandfather].
