Couple observes 60th anniversary
James E. "Jack" and Frankie Hennessee celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a surprise party given in the reception room of River Park Hospital's Rehabilitation Unit. They were joined by family, friends and nurses as they enjoyed fellowship and refreshments.
The honored couple was married Nov. 29, 1941 by T.Q. Martin, who was minister at Central Church of Christ. Connie Williams Mullican served as her sister's maid of honor and Tom Mullican was best man.
Following the ceremony held at the minister's residence, the newlyweds journeyed to Chattanooga on their wedding trip. Upon theirreturn, they moved into their home on Donnell Street.
The Hennessees have one son, Brig. Gen. Frank Hennessee, his wife and two grandsons, Mark and John, located in Washington, D.C. and one granddaughter, Rachel, who resides in California with her husband.
Mr. and Mrs. Hennessee have spent their years together in McMinnville, and have been an active part of their church and civic organizations. He was associated with the Tennessee-Carolina Transportation Company for many years, retiring in 1979.
