My husband is descendant of the William Chambers you are researching. We did some research in the genealogy library in Danville, Va. and according to "The Line of Mary Madeline Harrison" compiled by Bettye M. Green (Mrs. M. Leonard Green) 2243 South Blvd., Houston, TX 77908 she states: "William Chambers was born in Albermarle Co. Va., probably before 1729 and died in the spring of 1801, Person Co. NC. It is believed he was the son of Edward and Elizabeth Harralson Chambers of Hanover Co. VA. He married about 1750 in Albermarle Co. VA., Elizabeth (Patterson): abt. 1722- 7/7/1818 and they went to NC in 1751. He purchased land on Storey's Creek in St. Lawrence District in Orange Co. NC in 1753. By 1780 he owned 6,118 acres of land. That area became Caswell Co. in 1777 and Person Co. in 1793". She then lists the names of all 14 children if you do not have them let me know. There are no birth and death date but there are marriage dates and spouses names for some. One of the sons was William, Jr. - he had two sons: Henry and Joel. Henry had nine children, one of whom was named Allen, who is my husband's namesake. Allen moved to Texas about in the early 1850's. We have good knowledge from that time on this line of the Chambers family.
