Sila Bain
Sila Bain, 71, died at his home near Daylight at 4:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Funeral services will be conducted from the Bethlehem Cumberland Presbyterian church near Yager at 2:30 this afternoon, with the Rev. J.T. Casey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Bain was born in DeKalb county April 5, 1869 and was the son of the late Arch and Rachel (Helm) Bain. He later moved to Warren county where he spent the remainder of his life as a farmer. He had been a member of the Methodist church for the past forty-one years and was always active in the work of his church.
Besdies his widow, Mrs. Martha Ethel (Parsley) Bain, he is survived by three sons, Johnnie Bain of Chattanooga and Luther and Walter Bain of his county; five daughters, Mrs. Luvanda Jones, Mrs. Verla Mae McGee and Mrs. Willie Lee Burks all of this county, Mrs. Altie Jordan of Indianpolis, Ind., and Mrs. Novella Davenport of Chattanooga; three brothers, Neeley Bain and George Bain of Athens, Ala., and LaFayette Bain of DeKalb county; a sister, Mrs. Laura Taylor of Athens, Ala., and a half brother, John Tittsworth of DeKalb county.
