David, I gave Daymon the address so he could go see this as I had trouble sending it to him. He sent it to me so I could send it to others. Candy

From the Chattanooga Oklahoma News, Thursday, October 5, 1922, front page.
"POKER GAME ENDS IN DEATH
Benton Hill, Negro's Victim Died at the Hospital Sunday Night.
Benton Hill, a white farmer, was shot and fatally wounded by a Negro named Bill Muse, also a farmer, Sunday afternoon at a place on Cache Creek about three and a half miles south of Faxon, near the Cotton County line.
The difficulty, it is stated, originated in a game of cards. According to reports, the two men, with several others, were engaged in a game of poker and were drinking corn whiskey very freely. Muse was sent for more whiskey, the men agreeing to pay for it, but when he returned they took it from him.
This angered the Negro and he went for his gun and when he came back the shooting immediately followed. Hill was shot through the abdomen and Muse fled. It was reported here Tuesday that he had gone to Lawton, Monday night and surrended himself to the authorities."
I have not found the obit yet but will keep looking.
