      Looking for information on family of William B. Harmon and Susan Harmon listed as living in Bledsoe Co., in the 1850 census and living in Sequatchie Co., in the 1860 census.

      Children listed: Martha, Mary, Henry, Faney & Joseph.

      I think this is my husband's family that by the mid 1870's was living in AR.

      I'm trying to find out more about William Barton "Bart" HARMON's family, too.

      William was my great-great-great grandfather, born about 1827. I have found a William HARMON in the Bledsoe Co., TN 1830 Census age between 60 and 70 with a boy under 5, 3 boys 5-10, a girl under 5 and 3 girls 15-20. His likely wife was listed as 40-50.

      In the 1840 US Census of Bledsoe Co., TN There is no William listed anymore but a Susan HARMON age 50-60 with all the same children in the right age groups. I believe these are William Barton's parents.
      Sequatchie Co. was made from part of Bledsoe Co. in 1857.

      In the 1850 Marion Co.Census Susan HARMON, age 60 is living with Polly ELLIOTT age 37 who I suspect is one of her daughters.

      In the 1860 Census she is in Sequatchie Co. again living with Polly Elliot next door to William B. HARMON and his family.

      In the 1870 Census in Sequatchie Co. in Dunlap, she is 86 and still living with Polly ELLIOT next to Bart (William B.) HARMON's family on one side and Mary HUDSON age 60 on the other.

      William Barton HARMON's daughter Mary "Polly" HARMON was my great-great grandmother. She married John HUDSON in Sequatchie County, TN on 9 Oct 1873. She died 9 Feb 1940 in Montague County, TX and was buried in the Perryman Cemetery, Forestburg, Montague County, TX.

      John and Polly were in Marion Co., TN in the 1880 US Census living next door to John's parents, William and Martha J. (GRIFFITH) HUDSON, and his younger siblings, David M.... Standifer and Benette
      K.

      His brother, William C. HUDSON had already married and moved. In the 1900 US Census John and Polly were living in Jackson, Little River Co., Arkansas with 6 children. In the 1910 US Census they were living in Rack Creek, Stephens Co., OK. with their 3 youngest children. In the 1920 US Census they were living in the same county but in the town of McPherson. I have a photo of John, Polly and their youngest daughter, Bessie take about 1913 outside their boarded up General Store in Bowie, Montague Co., TX where they finally ended up.

      They traveled a lot. (Back and forth to Tennessee in a covered wagon several times. They had children born in Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas.)

      I have more information on Mary "Polly" HARMON HUDSON's children the her brother's and sister's, also. I think J. B. "Bird" HARMON and Leonard HARMON were William B.'s brother's. I'd be glad to trade some info. Finding another cousin is always fun.
