      Note:

      From the book "A Book of Remembrance of The Clouse Family Descendants of George Clouse, I" Compiled and Edited by Prietta Clouse Franklin Rt. 2 Box 408 Cookeville, Tennessee 38501:

      "The witnesses to his marriage were Adison and Newton Clouse, who were sons of his brother Benjamin. Mary C. was recorded as being from Shingle, Tennessee. About 9 children were born to Simp and Mary. They lived in Board Valley just off the Board Vally Road on the Long Hollow Road. On the birth of her ninth child who was born dead on March 7, 1897 and her being forty-seven years old at the time was never well afterward, so she died Sept. 25, 1897, and was buried in the lower Board Valley Cemetery.

      He was remarried to Harriett Leola Hennessee on Oct. 25, 1903, six years after the passing of his wife, Mary. She was the daughter of Patrick Robert "Pad" Hennessee and wife Dicie Lucinda Smith. Upon his marriage to Leola he sold the farm in Board Valley and purchased the Hennessee farm in the Blue Springs Community. A grandson now lives at the old home which was built before the Civil War.

      One day in December, Simp went fishing and as he was wading the river, took pneumonia and died on Dec. 26, 1913 at the age of fifty-nine years. His wife Leola was left with her four small children to rear. She was born March 10, 1871. She died of heart dropsy on March 8, 1925. By this time her oldest daughter Beulah had married and was living in California, and had two small children of her own. She returned to the farm in Blue Springs and took care of the two youngest, a brother and sister."
