Among the most loyal and enthusiastic participants in Hennessee Reunions at
Gilboa Church, Chesterfield and Glen Alpine has been Willie Mae Clontz
Hennessee, widow of Harold and mother of Connor. Recently hospitalized,
Willie Mae died before midnight Tuesday, March 30.
Connor has set the funeral for 2:00 PM Friday at the Glen Alpine United
Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM at the church. Following
the burial in the Hennessee plot in the Glen Alpine Cemetery, ladies of the
church plan a light meal for family members.
When Connor visited Willie Mae Tuesday morning, she was up and
walking...but after lunch when he went back to see her she was
unresponsive, a status that continued until death. She celebrated her 90th
birthday last June 27 at a surprise party and dinner that he gave in her honor.
If you come to the funeral and arrive in the forenoon, let's have lunch
together at the Glen Alpine Depot Restaurant. Please let me know whether to
expect you.
