Cherful Hennessee, 74
Rock Island resident and Van Buren County native Cherful Hennessee, 74, died April 3 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville after an extended illness. A nursery worker with Forest Nursery and later self-employed, he was the son of the late A.C. and Lillie Hillis Hennessee; and was preceded in death by brothers, Thurman, R.J., Rayburn, and Waymon Hennessee; and sisters, Florence Hillis, Pauline Boyd and Lila Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Hennessee; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Stephanie Hennessee of Rocky River; grandson, Aaron Cody Hennessee of Rocky River; granddaughter, Amanda Reed of Rocky River; brother, Clifford Hennessee of Sparta; sisters, Agness Wilson, Avo Pelham and Lou Eva McBride, all of McMinnville; and Hassie Wright of Sparta; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday at High's Chapel with Dennis Deweese officiating.
Burial followed at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County. High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
