As noted by Gail Tomlinson this is a provisional or theoretical family whose individuals are based on their proximity of their land holdings and joint public transactions. However, there were no wills and census records had onlhy names of heads of household back that far. RRKing. 5/10/2003

The following was written by Gail Tomlinson of Senatobia, Mississippi:

Only the weight of evidence places John Byars of Tar River, Granville Co., NC, as head of this provisional household. It is not known if William, George, Anderson, Guliame (Gulemus), and James are brothers, but the proximity of their lands and interaction as witness to legal documents would indicate such a relationship. John Byars was in Granville Co. in the 1750s. William, who died abt. Dec. 1831 was 90-100 in the 1830 census.

His d.o.b. is based on William and James being of an age to be on the 1755 tax rolls, and his 1752 land entry.

Only the weight of circumstantial evidence places John Byars of Tar River, Granville Co., NC, as head of this provisional household. It is not known if William (Guliame or Gulemus), George, Anderson, andJames are brothers, but the proximity of their lands, interaction as witness to legal documents, and the close association of their descendants would indicate such a relationship.
